Spiritually Homesteading | How to Lose Your Religion & Keep Your Jesus
Most faith podcasts will tell you what to believe. This one helps you figure out how to build.
Spiritually Homesteading exists for the spiritually curious, the quietly disillusioned, and the stubbornly hopeful. The people who got honest about their faith and ended up with more questions than answers. The ones who left the church, or stayed and felt alone in it. The ones who still feel something pulling them toward God but don't know what to do with that feeling anymore.
This podcast is not about de-converting. This is about what comes next: the slower, harder, more rewarding work of rebuilding a faith that actually belongs to you. Not inherited. Not performed. Not borrowed from someone else's certainty and rules.
Think of it like tending a homestead. Nothing grows overnight. Nothing grows without effort. But when you put your own hands in the soil and tend something with intention, it becomes yours in a way that nobody can take from you.
That's what we're building here. Episode by episode. Together.
If you've been hurt by the church but haven't lost your hunger for truth...Welcome home.

Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Catholic, Pentecostal, Non-Denominational... walk through any city and you'll see dozens of different Christian churches. So which Christian denomination is correct? Which one would Jesus choose? And why can't Christians just agree on what they believe?
If someone's ever told you that Christians seem pretty disunified, they're not wrong. We all start at the same place (Jesus), but where we go from there? Completely different directions. And today, I'm breaking down why that's actually okay.
In this video, we explore: ✅ How Christian denominations formed throughout history ✅ What denominations actually disagree about (and what they don't) ✅ The brilliant food analogy that makes everything click ✅ Why Jesus is like the nutritionist of Christianity ✅ How to find YOUR denominational home without the guilt ✅ The essentials every Christian agrees on (spoiler: it's simpler than you think)
THE BEST ANALOGY: Think about food and diet culture. Europeans prioritize quality and experience. Americans prioritize convenience. Both nourish their bodies, just differently. Denominations work the same way - different approaches to practicing faith in God.
THE CORE TRUTH: Jesus and the Apostles Creed are your essential nutrients. That's your non-negotiable foundation. How you practice those essentials? That's between you and God. Some people thrive with liturgy, others need contemporary worship. Neither is wrong.
REAL TALK: There's no "correct" denomination. Baptists aren't more saved than Catholics. Methodists aren't closer to God than Pentecostals. It's about finding the faith community where YOU can genuinely connect with God and grow.
Stop stressing about finding the "right" church and start focusing on finding YOUR church - the one where you can authentically grow in your relationship with Jesus.

Quick Denomination Overview
What They All Agree On:
Jesus is Lord and Savior
The Bible is God's Word
Salvation through faith in Christ
The Apostles Creed essentials
What They Disagree On:
Baptism practices (infant vs. adult)
Women in leadership roles
Alcohol consumption
Worship style preferences
Church government structure
The Bottom Line: These differences are about HOW to practice Christianity, not WHETHER the core beliefs are true.
For New Christians
If you're new to Christianity and overwhelmed by all the options, start here: Find a church where people genuinely love Jesus and love each other. Where the Bible is taught clearly. Where you feel welcomed and can ask questions. The denominational label matters way less than the community's authenticity.
For Church Shoppers
What works for you spiritually might change over seasons. I've been through multiple denominations throughout my life. What deepened my faith in one season didn't work in the next. That's normal. God stays the same, but our relationship with Him evolves.
For Non-Christians Watching
Christianity isn't as divided as it looks from the outside. Yes, we have different denominations. But we all worship the same Jesus, follow the same Bible, and believe the same core truths. The denominational diversity is actually beautiful - it means there's space for different personalities, cultures, and ways of connecting with God.
This video explains why there are so many Christian denominations, which denomination is correct, and how to choose a church that's right for you. Whether you're comparing Baptist vs Catholic vs Methodist churches, trying to understand Protestant vs Catholic differences, or just church shopping for the first time, this guide will help you navigate Christian denominations with confidence.
PERFECT FOR: New Christians, people raised in one denomination curious about others, church shoppers, non-Christians trying to understand Christianity, anyone confused by denominational differences.

Does God hate women? Is Christianity sexist? Is the Bible patriarchal? These questions consumed me for 10 years and nearly destroyed my faith. Then I discovered something about Mary that changed everything.
God didn't have to use a woman to bring Jesus into the world. He could have materialized Jesus as a full-grown man. But He didn't. He chose to package the most important information in human history inside the body of a woman. And that choice? It's God's feminist statement.
In this video, we explore: ✅ Why I knelt before a statue of Mary and what God revealed to me ✅ The shocking truth about women in Jesus's ministry (it's not what you think) ✅ How Mary bookends the entire Gospel story with another woman ✅ Why Sarah is just as important to Judaism as Mary is to Christianity ✅ The demonic lie that tells women God is withholding something from them ✅ What the Bible ACTUALLY says about God's view of women
THE POWERFUL TRUTH: The first person to know about Jesus's existence was a woman. The first person to witness His resurrection was a woman. Women bookend the entire Gospel. That's not an accident.
REAL TALK: Jesus was constantly surrounded by women. Women funded His ministry. Women followed Him to the cross when male apostles abandoned Him. Women came to anoint His body. Jesus's entire life from beginning to end was marked by women's presence, compassion, and ministry.
THE LIE WE'VE BEEN TOLD: Any person who makes a woman feel like her relationship with God is insignificant because of her gender is preaching the same lie Satan told Eve in the Garden - that God is withholding something from you.
This isn't about bashing men or the church. This is about seeing what scripture actually says about women's value in God's eyes. And it's way more beautiful than you've been told.

Why Are Christians So Judgmental? The Brutal Truth About Religious Hypocrisy Video Description
"If God is so good and Christianity is supposed to change your life, why are Christians such hypocrites?" This is the question keeping millions away from church, and today we're giving you the honest answer.
As a Christian myself, I'll tell you something controversial: My biggest problem isn't with atheists or agnostics. It's with other Christians. And if you've been hurt by judgmental Christians, this video is for you. In this video, we explore: ✅ Why Jesus spent more time calling out religious people than converting non-believers ✅ The shocking truth: Christian hypocrisy isn't actually a Christianity problem ✅ How modern Christians have become the Pharisees Jesus opposed ✅ Why power corrupts people in every institution (not just churches) ✅ What real Christianity actually looks like (hint: it's not about being right) ✅ The #1 barrier keeping people from faith in America today
THE UNCOMFORTABLE TRUTH: Jerks exist everywhere. Cops on power trips. Corrupt attorneys. Abusive bosses. You don't need to be religious to be a hypocrite. You just need to be human with access to power.
JESUS'S BIGGEST ENEMIES: The Pharisees had all the answers. They knew scripture inside and out. They had prophecies describing exactly who the Messiah would be. But when Jesus showed up? They rejected Him because He threatened their power and control.
THE MODERN PHARISEE PROBLEM: Many Christians today believe they're entitled to God's grace while withholding it from others. They think they're on some divine VIP list. But that's the opposite of what Jesus taught. This isn't about bashing Christians. This is about calling out the hypocrisy that's driving people away from faith and getting back to what Jesus actually stood for: love, humility, and service over status and control. Related Topics Why are Christians so judgmental Christian hypocrisy explained Pharisees in modern church Why I left Christianity Toxic Christianity Religious trauma What did Jesus actually teach Are all Christians hypocrites Church hurt and healing Deconstructing faith

Why Does God Allow Suffering? If God Is Good, Why Is There Evil and Pain? Video Description If God is so good, why does He allow suffering? Why do bad things happen to good people?
This is the hardest question in Christianity, and today we're diving deep into why God allows pain, tragedy, and evil in the world. In this video, we explore: ✅ Why our choices create suffering (and how they affect future generations) ✅ The surprising reason God doesn't fix every problem ✅ How pain creates community in ways nothing else can ✅ What the Bible actually says about living in a fallen world ✅ Why entitled thinking makes suffering harder to accept ✅ The honest truth: we don't have all the answers (and that's okay) THE HARD TRUTH: We don't live in a good world where bad things occasionally happen. We live in a bad world where good things sometimes break through.
Understanding this changes everything. REAL TALK: Some suffering comes from bad choices we make. Some comes from choices previous generations made. And some suffering? It's just the reality of living in a broken world. But God doesn't leave us alone in it.
KEY INSIGHT: Pain has a unique power to connect us as human beings. When we suffer, we reach out to each other in ways we never would otherwise. Shared pain creates authentic community that joy and abundance simply can't. This isn't about giving you easy answers or oversimplifying complex theology.
This is about wrestling with the reality of suffering while holding onto faith in a good God.
